On these cars the intake and the tune go together. Most aftermarket intakes change the MAF housing size, so the ECU needs a map made for that intake or the car can idle rough and run lean. A drop-in panel filter in the stock airbox is the one intake change that does not need a tune. A turbo inlet is a common add-on while you are already in there.
